Why identical copy does not create identical meaning

A website, Google Play, App Store, and RuStore have different fields, audiences, and constraints. Literal copying may look tidy while hiding an important difference: a feature exists on one platform only, a limitation changed, or a localization uses another name. For a person this is confusing; for an AI system it becomes several conflicting descriptions of one named subject.

The object of review should therefore be the fact, not the wording. Ask which scenario the app serves, which capability supports it, where it is available, and under what conditions. If the answer is unknown, preserve the unknown instead of filling the gap with an assumption.

Build one product model

Start with a scenario table. Put the person’s task in the first column, the capability in the second, and the limitation in the third. Add the website, Google Play, App Store, RuStore, and external materials. For each cell record the exact wording, review date, and status: supported, stale, contradictory, or unknown.

The table should not become a search engine optimization (SEO) keyword list. Its purpose is to give an editor a decision map. One scenario may use different wording on each platform, but its fact should not change unless the difference is explained. A row for an unavailable capability is more useful than a confident promise.

Separate team roles

ASO owns public app fields and scenarios in Google Play, App Store, and RuStore. SEO owns website pages and their accessibility. PR owns external materials and context. The roles overlap in facts but should not replace one another: fixing app copy does not replace website documentation, and publishing an article does not make a capability available.

At a monthly review, find contradictions in the most important scenarios. Assign an owner and a recheck date for each correction. If platforms truly differ, say so plainly instead of hiding the difference behind an identical headline.

Treat an AI answer as a separate layer

After updating the listings, repeat a fixed set of queries in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Alice when those interfaces and modes are in scope. Record service, mode, language, region, date, answer, and visible sources. Do not mix an answer without search with an answer with search: the available data differs.

Record four outcomes separately: the app was mentioned, the fact was correct, the platform was named correctly, and the link led to the intended action. One blended score hides the case where AI named the app but sent the person to the wrong place.

When the matrix is most useful

The matrix is useful before a major release, after a feature change, when entering a new market, and when updating localizations. It can also show that the problem is not visibility but the public product description itself. That distinction matters: distribution quality cannot repair a contradictory fact.

If a change does not affect a scenario, do not create a new page for reporting purposes. Update an existing material only when the substance changes and keep a correction history.

Limits and next step

A consistent model does not guarantee source link, recommendation, or higher position. AI systems may use different sources, modes, and personalization. The matrix makes contradictions visible but does not explain every answer change.

Start with one scenario and five records: the website, Google Play, App Store, RuStore, and an external article. Fix only a confirmed contradiction, then repeat the same query set and preserve the result with the measurement conditions.

What this does not prove

  • The column contains no independent measurement of a specific app or platform.
  • The recommendations do not prove an ASO effect on AI answers.
