Data minimisation

Privacy and analytics

By default, GeoAeoAle works without analytics cookies, fingerprinting, or session recording. Server events are aggregated to understand pages, referrals, and verified bots. Yandex Metrica loads only after the visitor gives explicit consent.

01

Data processed

The server receives standard request data: time, URL, status, referrer, User-Agent, and IP. Before the analytics database is written, each IP is truncated to a network prefix and transformed with an HMAC.

02

Retention

Raw server logs are deleted after seven days. Aggregated, de-identified metrics are retained for 13 months. No public user profile is created.

03

Yandex Metrica — consent only

The optional Yandex Metrica tag No. 112529730 starts only after selecting “Allow Metrica” and sends data about opted-in visits to Yandex. Restricted mode and IP masking are enabled; Session Replay, scroll maps, form analytics, automatic goals, ecommerce, and advanced advertising tracking are disabled. The browser does not request the Metrica script before consent. Yandex's policy is available at https://yandex.com/legal/confidential/.

The choice is stored locally in the browser. It can be changed through “Analytics settings” in the site footer. After declining, Metrica will not load on subsequent pages; any cookies created earlier can be removed in browser settings.

04

Author submissions

When you submit an article, the editorial queue stores your name or byline, email, title, thesis, and public draft URL. Email is used only to discuss that submission and is not published. Submissions never go straight to automatic publication; editors review them first.
