The evidence boundary
A page may be reachable by Yandex and present in search without Alice reading it, using it in an answer, or showing it to a user. Record these events separately.
The yandex-indexing source concerns crawling and indexability. It is not evidence of retrieval, ranking, or citation behavior in AI answers.

What Crawl statistics show
In Yandex Webmaster, inspect crawl statistics: robot requests, response codes, and URL dynamics. This shows whether the crawler receives a page and where the server returns an error.
The graph is an observation about page delivery, not a map of passages entering Alice answers. Preserve the period and export with each check.

Frequency and change type
The documentation describes daily statistics updates and, for some data, updates within six hours. Do not treat a post-publication pause as an immediate indexing decision.
Separate response-code changes from content-only changes. More 404 or 5xx responses indicate delivery and availability; a text change without a status change needs a separate re-crawl observation.

Pages in search and recrawl
The Pages in search report is a useful snapshot of index state: a URL may enter, leave, or be excluded for a technical reason. Check the exact address, not only the aggregate count.
After a substantial change, you may request a page recrawl in Webmaster. A request asks the system to check a URL; it is not an order to index immediately and not a guarantee of Alice’s answer.

An Alice answer experiment
Build a fixed Russian-language question set and record region, device, date, and mode. For every answer, save the full text, links, missing links, and wording of any mention.
Repeat the test at regular intervals and compare only comparable snapshots. If a URL appears in an answer, that is an observed citation in one run, not a general platform rule.

Server logs
In access logs, record User-Agent, safely processed IP, URL, time, status, response size, and latency. Verify crawler identity against official rules because a User-Agent string is easy to imitate.
A log confirms a request and delivery, but not whether the material was selected for an answer. Link events to a specific page version and publication period.

Metrics and practical actions
Keep separate dashboard metrics: crawler access, successful-response share, pages in search, change-to-recrawl delay, recrawl requests, Alice answers with exact links, and referrals. Do not collapse them into one AI score.
The practical baseline is server HTML, stable URLs, clear headings, a sitemap, correct status codes, and useful content. This improves checkability and indexability; the effect on Alice’s selection remains a hypothesis.

Limits and sample size
Yandex documents specific tools and measurements, including available exports and data views; their form depends on the report and current interface. Record the check date instead of treating a number as permanent.
Even an observed citation does not prove causality: the answer may depend on language, region, query history, index freshness, or outside context. Repeat the test and publish limits beside the conclusion.

What this does not prove
- Yandex documentation guarantees neither indexing, specific retrieval, ranking, nor Alice citation. Crawler access and search status must not be presented as proof that a page was used in an AI answer.
