Working meaning
An entity has an identity beyond a text string. Names can be ambiguous, so context and relationships help: who owns a product, which site is official, how it differs from namesakes, and which properties belong to that particular thing.

How to distinguish
A keyword is a string, while an entity is the thing that string refers to. A page, schema.org markup, and a knowledge graph are not the entity either; they are different ways to describe or connect the thing.

Example
The name GeoAeoAle without context can look like an invented word. The About page links it to a project, domain, Telegram channel, and AI-search topic. Those visible relationships help distinguish the project from an accidental string match.
Testing
Check whether the name, owner, URL, description, and profiles agree across visible HTML, structured data, and official external pages. Look for namesakes and add only verified distinguishing attributes; do not fill markup with hidden or invented properties.
Interpretation limit
Clear entity description improves page interpretability but does not reveal which identifier a search system will create or whether it will connect every mention. Entity understanding cannot be measured from one rich result or one AI answer.
What this does not prove
- Entity boundaries depend on the task: a brand, legal company, product, and mobile application may be related yet distinct objects. Merge them only when their relationships are explicitly supported.
